beautiful dystopic futures without the cameron-esque budgets

a little while ago, i posted this video from the philips cinema parallel lines competition.  titled ‘the gift’, it’s beautifully produced and evocative of a much larger story that is now the focus of some competition among major studios, all who want the prize of taking this 4:45 short and turning it into a full length feature, and in the process, no doubt, taking advantage of the high production value/low budget that independent film-makers understand, and large studios do not.

then today, on laughing squid, i saw this:
equally beautiful, equally deserving of being invested in for a full-length feature.
i love what technology is bringing us. now where the hell is my iPad??
